Could you sponsor a young person to study or learn a new trade and earn themselves out of poverty?
Around £2 a month can pay for a youngster to become a fully-trained tailor - a skill for life that will ensure they never go hungry again.
If you donate to YSEP, you can specify exactly how you would like your money to be spent, However, please bear in mind these decisions are best left to local volunteers.
Ways you can donate:
1) Sponsoring students to study at the Eureka Training Institute - about £150 per year
There are currently two students seeking help from donors.
Aisha (24) from Tanga is vulnerable and living with her sister as a housewife. Through this work she has been able to raise 50,000tsh - about £25 - for a computer course at the institute. But the total fee is £200. Could you help her with £175?
Vivian (20) is a single orphan. Her father died and her mother is disabled and unfortunately Vivian was also involved in a car accident which has affected her psychologically. Her mother lost the ability to pay for her private schools fees so the student was expelled from her studies during Form 3. She is now appealing for 270,000tsh - about £137 - so she can finish her examinations, which will help her to get a place in secondary education and ultimately pursue further studies.
2) Donating learning materials such as books, computers etc
3) Helping with rent for YSEP's building - around £1,300 per year
4) Volunteering with Eureka - see 'Volunteer with us' section
5) Assisting with public relations / fundraising for the charity
