Our mission

YSEP is a charitable programme staffed by local volunteers in Arusha, north Tanzania, which works with vulnerable youngsters and orphans.

The organisation was founded in 2004 by a group of young men from the city’s Rotary Club to give detained children at the Arusha Remand Home – many of whom have committed no crime at all – hope.

As well as spending time with youngsters inside the prison, the group aims to eliminate poverty through academic training and the support of micro businesses. This side of the charity's work is done through the Eureka Training Institute, which held its first ever graduation ceremony on May 10, 2008.

YSEP coordinator Boniface Kimboka provides local

street children with a warm meal at a cafe in Arusha

Some youngsters that YSEP and its training institute work with have been verbally, physically or sexually abused. They are counselled and helped to reach their full potential in whatever vocation they wish to pursue.

YSEP does outreach work to keep track of the youngsters it supports.

PLEASE help to support this wonderful organisation.
